Life in the Private Sector
There are seven children in the family of Mae and George Siller: firefighter Stephen Gerard Siller is the youngest. Stephen became an orphan after his father died when he was eight years old, and his mother died a year and a half later, leaving him to be raised by his older siblings as an only child. Because of the love and support he received from his siblings and the principles his parents instilled in him, Stephen grew to be an extraordinary person and dedicated firefighter. He is more aware than most of the importance of time and has achieved a great deal in his 34 years.
The jet that hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, woke Stephen, who was assigned to Brooklyn’s Squad 1. He was on his way to play golf with his siblings when he discovered someone had crashed into the plane. his scanner. To let his siblings know that he and Stephen would meet, he immediately called Sally, his wife, and explained the situation. His belongings in Squad 1 await him.
Stephen’s vehicle could not enter the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel for safety considerations. With 60 pounds of equipment hanging on his back, he quickly crossed the tunnel on foot towards the Twin Towers, where he dedicated his life to saving the lives of others around him.
Stephen seems to have it all:
A good wife
Five beautiful children
A loving extended family
A supportive network of friends
While we have the opportunity to do as good as we can, let us do it, ”Stephen’s grown -up words were quoted as a child from the teachings of St. Francis of Assisi. As his legacy, Stephen’s life and death serve as a lesson for all of us to live fully and make the most of our time on this planet.
