It’s been a little while since we’ve seen drives from G-Technology, an oversight they repaired this week by sending us a box of SSDs, both portable and desktop.

When "Colin Farrell" does a Hard Drive Review…?
Hello question for you;
I have 3 external Seagate drives: 10TB, 8TB, and their 2TB external drive. I had the 8TB and the 2TB for
2 years now without issue, but had to replace the 10TB within only a years time of initial purchase due
to drive eventually malfunctioning. It did give warning sounds before it went however.
I store a lot of important data on each of the drives, but was looking to purchase the 18TB G-Technology
drive as an all in one back up of the other drives. My concern is (the longevity of the drive). I know all of them
eventually fail, but I was looking for something that would last at least 6-10 years if possible. When I'm not
using the Seagate drives they are powered off. I would say I back up files at least twice a week; usually smaller
files or a video or two here and there, but the drive is not on 24/7. My Seagate drives are also quiet as they sit front
and center on my desk.
With all that being said, do you think this G-Technology drive is worth the investment or a RAID setup would be better (Positives Negatives)?
Nice video
You guys ROCK!! I have BEEN wanting to see what hardware was in that $2000 1TB SSD. ๐
I WANT that U.2 controller. They can keep the overpriced aluminum foreskin. ๐
