The Real Housewives of Miami Guerdy Abraira was “actually shocked” by one person when it came time to share her life in Season 4 — and that person, it turns out, wasn’t one of the Miami Housewives. Her husband Russell was so incredibly comfortable in front of the camera and she just wasn’t expecting it.
“I was actually shocked at how natural Russell was. It was something like, “Wow, you’re really good in front of the camera,” she told The Daily Dish of her husband’s performances on Peacock’s RHOM, which is currently on Bravo. “Now he’s suddenly a heartthrob and, you know, it’s like people texting and saying to me, ‘When is he going to come out with a fire department calendar?’ I said, ‘Probably never.'” He should, but he did probably wouldn’t do it. You know, he’s so humble.” (Russell, FYI, is a firefighter.)

Guerdy and Russell, who have been together for more than two decades and were high school sweethearts, are parents to two sons, and for Guerdy, life is all about making time for her family and her busy events company.
Guerdy also finds ways to honor her legacy. Haitian-born Guerdy has been candid about her life before cameras started rolling over it, including the losses she has endured, such as the deaths of her brother and daughters in the 2010 earthquake. That tragedy served as the inspiration for a charity event that she hosted in Season 4. “Well my darling of course [is my favorite party this season]. My fundraiser,” she said. “I wanted that internally for her, quietly, to be honest,” Guerdy said. “When she just kept saying, ‘You know what, Todd was getting married tomorrow. He just wants to elope.” And I was like, “Maybe that’s best for you guys.” But she’s a bride. She wants to get married for the third time. [She says] ‘This is going to be fabulous’ and ‘This is going to be the wedding of my dreams,'” Guerdy mused. “Well, than ride or die, you know I gotta ride or die. So I was something like what you want, you like it, I love it. So we did or tried, and then here we are today. You are already tense and living life. So mazel tov to them.”

Separately, Guerdy, a renowned events planner, remarked, “I was born to plan weddings, my darling, absolutely, yes. It’s what I do.”
And while Guerdy had helped Alexia plan her wedding during Season 4, don’t expect her to miss Dr. Nicole Martin plans, who got engaged after the season ended. “I’ve always been able to keep business separate from friendship, but it might not work the other way around. So you have to listen to the message and the hints here and there. So I’m in no rush to plan [Nicole’s] wedding because I’d rather just support her emotionally wherever I can and maybe go to a tasting and dress shopping but I don’t know if I have to do that pack leader in that sense. So ideally, I’d love to watch her as a friend at the wedding… Whatever she needs from me, I’ll be there to support her in every way.”
Is Nicole the same? “I think Guerdy is an incredible wedding planner, event planner. Personally, though, I don’t like shuffling deals,” she said. “I value Guerdy’s friendship far too much to argue about flowers or napkin colors or anything stupid. So I like to keep my friends and business far apart.”

One more thing about parties. As it turns out, Guerdy thinks someone in the cast is doing a great job putting a party together. “Lisa [Hochstein] throws great parties. They are of course completely different than the parties I throw because my parties are paid weddings and social gatherings. But, honey, Lisa is going to throw a party because it’s sunny outside, okay, and I’m going to party with her in a moment. She’s everything,” she said, laughing. “She loves life, just like me. we see each other Lisa and I are very similar in terms of our zest for life and just being happy. You know, we’re looking for it.
