Korra Obidi’s husband threatens to sue dancer for defamation
Justin Dean, the husband of US-based Nigerian dancer Korra Obidi, has threatened to sue his wife for defamation.
Since March, the 34-year-old exercise therapist and his wife have been locked in a messy divorce controversy after having their second child.
The father of two had previously stated that he was leaving the marriage to preserve his sanity.
During his Facebook Live session Monday, the chiropractor announced he was suing his estranged wife and her friends for defamation.
A video has shown Mr Dean calling his wife derogatory names in front of their children.
But the therapist said it was a setup.
He said: “Yes, I was set up in that recording, they did it on purpose, they did this to set me up and they’re being sued for defamation of character. It is illegal in the state of California to film someone and post them online in a derogatory manner.
He said the video, in which he called Korra derogatory names, was recorded and released without his consent.
“So I’m probably going to make about half a million dollars after this lawsuit, and they probably won’t be able to pay it.”
Justin also mentioned that social media caused his marriage to fail.
The couple met in China through the popular dating app Tinder.
At the time, Korra was teaching language through dance in Shanghai, China, while Justin was working as a sports therapist for the Chinese Olympic team.
